Things to Do in Sorrento

Sorrento sits on clifftops above the Bay of Naples at the entrance to its own peninsula, close enough to the water that lemon groves and hotel terraces alike look straight out toward Vesuvius. It functions as the main transport hub for the region, with the Circumvesuviana train line, coast buses, and the busiest ferry dock for Capri all converging here. The town is also synonymous with limoncello, distilled locally from the thick-skinned lemons grown on the surrounding terraces.
