A valid passport or, for EU/EEA/Swiss citizens, a national identity card is sufficient for entry.
The Schengen 90/180 rule applies to visa-exempt visitors: a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen area.
No vaccinations are required to enter Italy.
A national driving licence is enough for most visa-exempt visitors; an International Driving Permit is recommended if your licence is an old paper format.
Italian motorways are tolled (including the A3 Naples-Salerno), and town-centre ZTL restricted zones are enforced by camera, with fines arriving by post months later.
