Things to Do in Positano

Positano is built almost vertically into a cliffside, its pastel-colored houses stacked above one another and connected by steep stairways rather than flat streets. At the bottom sits Spiaggia Grande, the town's main beach and the natural endpoint for most visits, ringed by cafés and boutiques selling handmade sandals and linen. The lack of car access to much of the center is part of what keeps Positano's shopping lanes and viewpoints so walkable, if steep.
